Detailed Tournament Rules and Conditions
Group Structure & Playing Schedule
Each group (A, B,) will be playing 4 sessions, forming a new group after each Session.
-
-
Session 1:
-
-
Group A 11:00 to 11:55
-
Group B 12:00 to 12:55
-
-
Session 2:
-
-
Group A 13:00 to 13:55
-
Group B 14:00 to 14:55
-
-
Session 3:
-
-
Group A 15:00 to 15:55
-
Group B 16:00 to 16:55
-
Team rotation within each group will be determined by the points scored during the previous sessions. For a ROYAL Day Event format, each session’s points will be counted independently – meaning all teams begin each new session with zero points.
-
Team rotation will extend across groups:
By Session 2, teams from Group A may be rotated to compete in Group B, and vice versa, depending on the point score from previous Session.
This system is designed to progressively match top-performing teams against lower-ranked teams from the other group – ensuring balanced competition, fair progression, and dynamic gameplay throughout the day.
However, the total number of points earned throughout the entire day will be accumulated at the end of the group stage.
-
This cumulative point total will determine:
• which teams advance to the final stage, and
• the official ranking position of each team for the tour, based on total points scored throughout the day.
These scores will also contribute to each team’s official VALSOLO Tour general Ranking.
-
-
Warm-Up: Each group will have up to 10 minutes of warm-up before the start of the sessions 1. Starting from session 2 if necessary, groups could have up to 5 min. warm-up prior starting a match for each session onwards.
-
Matches will begin promptly at 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00 for each session, lasting 50 – 55 minutes.
-
In the event of heightened interest and additional team registrations, the number of participating teams per session shall be gracefully adjusted to ensure equitable distribution across all scheduled sessions.
Conversely, should the number of registered teams fall below expectations, the distribution of participants across each group and session will be thoughtfully refined to preserve competitive integrity and balance. In such cases, sessions may be reduced or consolidated accordingly, while ensuring that every match retains the elevated standard, flow, and prestige synonymous with a ROYAL DAY Tour Event by VALSOLO Tour.
Matchmaking System
-
Session 1: Teams play opponents randomly assigned
-
Session 2: Teams divided into high and low scorers forming new Group A and B
-
Session 3: Teams divided into high and low scorers forming new Group A and B
Scoring Basis: Total games won, not just match outcomes
Note: Matchups are based on previous session points: high scorers vs. high scorers, low vs. low. Top-scoring teams will always start on Court 1, with others placed accordingly.
Court King Play Format for group plays
Overview
-
Signature play court King format used during group heats
-
Each session lasts for 50 – 55 minutes
-
Uses 6 courts (with the number of courts adaptable if required, as per Group Structure section above) simultaneously
Gameplay Rules:
-
Start & Whistle System:
-
Golden Ball Rule:
-
During Court King Play games (not tie-breakers), if the game score reaches 40–40 (deuce), a Golden Ball rule applies:
-
-
-
A single deciding point will be played to determine the winner of the game.
-
No two-point advantage is required.
-
The receiving team chooses which player will receive the serve.
-
The winner of the Golden Ball wins the game.
-
-
-
Court Movement Rules:
-
Winners move up one court (to a lower number)
-
Losers move down one court (to a higher number)
-
E.g., Court 2:
-
Winner → Court 1
-
Loser → Court 3
-
-
-
Court shifts occur repeatedly throughout the sessions
-
-
Final Standings:
-
Last court positions at session’s end determine rankings:
-
Court 1: Winner = 1st place, Loser = 2nd place
-
Court 2: 3rd & 4th place
-
Court 3: 5th & 6th place
-
Down to Court 6
-
-
-
Point Allocation (End of Session):
-
At the conclusion of the 50 – 55 minutes, the following additional points are awarded:
-
1st place: 25 points
-
2nd place: 10 points
-
3rd place: 6 points
-
4th place: 2 points
-
-
These points are added to each team’s ROYAL DAY Tour Event results and contribute to each team’s official VALSOLO Tour general Ranking.
-
-
Tie-Break Procedure After Session 4:
-
In the event that two or more teams (applies to top 4 teams in overall day standing) finish Session 4 with an equal number of total points, on the same day those teams shall engage in a single, decisive game to determine final placement. This one game, a tie-break game will follow traditional scoring and must be won with a two-point advantage.
If the game reaches 40–40 (deuce), play continues until one team wins two consecutive points, thereby securing victory.
The winner of this tie-break game will be awarded the higher placement and, where applicable, progress to the Final Stage.
Team’s Availability & Attendance Rules – Group Stage
-
Once entered into the tour, teams must be available:
-
On tours day from 10:30 to 19:00
-
-
All players must arrive at least 20 minutes before their scheduled match
-
Delay Penalty System:
-

-
This is based on the tour’s point system, where games won = ranking points
-
If a team fails to start playing within 15 minutes, the match may be declared forfeited at the discretion of the organizers (on case by case basis)
-
-
-
Chronic lateness may result in disqualification from the current tour without a refund
Final Stage Format Overview – (Finals):
Overview
-
Final:
-
Top 2 teams from overall standings of the ROYAL Tour Day
-
-
-
-
The first team to win two sets claims victory.
-
If both teams win one set each, a decisive third set will be played.
-
In the event of a 6–6 tie in any of the sets played, a tiebreak to 7 points will be held, with a minimum two-point advantage required to win.
-
-
Traditional Scoring Applies Within Each Set for Each Game:
Matches will follow the full tournament scoring format. If the game score reaches 40–40 (deuce), play continues until one team wins two consecutive points, thus securing the game. No sudden-death or golden point rules apply—only classic, refined competitive tennis. -
Important Note:
In the Final Stage, the winners are determined strictly by the match result – that is, by winning two out of three sets. The number of games won during the match will be recorded and used solely for VALSOLO Tour general Ranking purposes. No additional bonus points (such as those awarded in Court King Play) will be applied. This ensures a clear distinction between match victory and ranking progression, maintaining both competitive clarity and the prestige of the final phase.
